Plinths

I have been researching presentation methods used by projection artists but haven’t really thought about the presentation of the wire sculpture and weather I will need to purchase a low stage like plinth. I have had a look at some of the websites that make them to have an idea of how much one may cost or to look at alternative ideas on Pinterest. I also need to find a way to display the photo book for people to look at.

Saturday club and the Festival of making.

Over the last few Saturdays I have Volunteered to help out with the Saturday Art club. I have assisted the young artists with making and designing coasters, Tie dyeing and printing for cushion covers and plaster casting of hands with Alginate. The Cushions etc.. that were dyed were placed on sale at the #festival of making and the shop was located at the Prism gallery.

https://festivalofmaking.co.uk/

At the #Festival of making the young artists got to try out some of the mini workshops and get involved with some making. They met with Hand embroidery artist Bella and got involved in some needlework. https://festivalofmaking.co.uk/bella-may-leonard-with-silentnight/

They really enjoyed a mime/clown artist and his audience participated show.

We also watched the Blackburn College Fashion show.

It was a really good day, a lot of hard work had gone into organising it and I was quite proud to have played a small part in helping to bring it together with the volunteering at the Prism Gallery and helping out with the Saturday club.

Rome

As part of my artistic Journey into 3D and Sculpture and Fine Art. I felt Rome was an important place to visit and I was blown away by its beauty and splendour.

I loved visiting all the Plaza’s and the famous Trevin fountain and Spanish steps. I also loved our visit to the coliseum and the Forum full of old Roman ruins.

It felt so insane that you could walk through a little street from corner to corner that felt no different to a back ally to suddenly being blown away because out of nowhere stands something so strikingly beautiful.

The Plaza’s

The Pantheon.

Even the shop windows on our way towards the Spanish steps were artistically styled in such a way that I felt the need to photograph them.

Even at night the beauty of these remarkable buildings and the shadows they made were astonishing.

The Vatican

Rome and especially the Vatican has been one of the many places I wanted to visit since I heard of its existence as a young girl. This Easter I was lucky enough to go to Rome and visit the Vatican museum which was high on the list of places to visit so that I could experience its masterpieces in the flesh with its awe inspiring architecture and pictoral painted ceilings and walls. We wanted to see as much of Rome and its wonders and had to squeeze everything into 4 days and on a tight budget.

I took plenty of Photographs where I could but could have easily taken more if we hadn’t been a hurry to see the most important pieces on the list in the time that we had.

Some of the Photographs that I took inside were a little blurred due to the dim light of some of the exhibitions and because I had to use a no flash setting on the camera.

I really loved it there and could have spent hours idly looking at every painting, antique and Roman sculpture available.
